A major Jewish American policy group today insisted that the administration “hold to account” the senior U.S. official who cursed Benjamin Netanyahu. Even the National Jewish Democratic Council, articulated “surprise and disappointment at the profane and inappropriate language attributed to a senior administration official in describing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.” Undoubtedly a manifestation of top-down administration contempt for Netanyahu.
Who is this senior U.S. official “that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (cf. 1Sa 17:26); this is not a trivial transgression:
Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand… that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel” (1Sa 17:45-46).
As the "Midnight Hour" approaches, so also the “Day” when the “God of Israel,” a phrase repeated over 200 times in Scripture, will recompense His namesake:
“… Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee” (Numbers 24:9). “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink” (Joel 3:2-3). "And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left” (Mat 25:32-33).
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31).
